Important information regarding COVID19 measures and testing
The local TMA organisation committee follows the guidelines from the Dutch public health authority, RIVM, regarding COVID19. We ask participants to respect the following guidance:
Self test before attending
We strongly encourage participants to take a rapid self test, preferably every day of the conference, before you attend the first session of the day. Self tests can be bought at supermarkets and drug stores for a few euros (common high street drug stores are “Kruidvat”, “Etos” and “DA”). All self tests sold at stores in the Netherlands are approved for use by the public health authority.
Note: the campus supermarket (COOP) currently does not have self tests in stock unfortunately.
For those who are unable to obtain a test and need one, we have a limited supply of tests available upon request. Please reach out to our chairs or volunteers, but be mindful of their health, so if you have symptoms: approach them via email.
If you have symptoms or think you may be infected
If you have symptoms, or think you may be infected, self-isolate immediately in your hotel room (or other accommodation), and take a self test. If unsure, please prefer to stay in isolation rather than risk infecting others.
If you test positive
If you test positive (either a self test or a PCR test), you must immediately self-isolate and observe a mandatory minimum 5-day quarantaine. After this period, you may end your quarantaine provided you have been free of symptoms for at least 24 hours. You can find the official guidance from the health authorities here.
We also ask you to please do the following as soon as possible:
- Inform any close contacts whose details you have (e.g., if you were at a dinner or pub with a group).
- Inform the general chairs (we respect your privacy and will only inform other participants that there is an infection among attendees in general terms).
Mask guidance
There are currently no national rules that require you to wear a mask. Nevertheless, building managers in public and private buildings (such as hospitals, dental practices, …) may impose a mask mandate that they must clearly signpost. Please respect any such requirements. During the conference, you do not have to wear a mask, but are of course free to do so if you prefer. FFP2/N95 masks are readily available from drug stores and some supermarkets.
Respect each other’s boundaries
Everybody at TMA will have different experiences and different personal boundaries. Please respect the boundaries of other participants, and ask rather than assume, when, e.g., shaking hands or approaching someone in close contact. We also ask that you respect the choice of others to wear a mask (or not).
